NENSA Staff has spoken with meteorologists at the Fairbanks Museum. They state that 6 inches of snow is a solid estimate for Trapp's on Thursday with almost a 100% chance of precipitation. Trapp's needs 5 inches to be able to host the race. Things are looking a little better! Stay tuned...

We have Trapp Family Lodge and Jackson XC as the primary and secondary back-up sites. As of right now, Trapp's is closed and could not hold a race. While Jackson remains open and the training is excellent, potential race trails do not provide sufficient terrain for an Eastern Cup event. We are holding on because of a forecast that calls for snow on Thursday. We will try to make a call by 3PM tomorrow, but if the forecase still calls for snow, we will wait until Thursday for a final decision.

The BKL portion of the Silver Fox Trot has been cancelled.

We will extend the registration period for online until Friday at 5PM to allow people to wait for our decision before registering for the event.

In the event that the Eastern Cups are cancelled, Sugarloaf Outdoor Center will host a 10K skate on Sunday. This event would not be an Eastern Cup, but would give a great opportunity for athletes to get a race start on a 5K loop with good skiing conditions.
